At the Ottley Music School Recital and Graduation Ceremony, which took place in June 2017, graduating students were presented with free copies of the book, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave.

The books were donated by the Frederick Douglass Memorial and Historical Association (FDMHA).

President of FDMHA, Moonyene S. Jackson, Esq., presented the books to the graduating students.

In her remarks at the event, Moonyene Jackson spoke about FDMHA’s effort to place 250 Bicentennial editions of the donated books in the hands of 250 students as part of efforts supporting the Frederick Douglass Family Initiative to revive the legacy of Frederick.
